The Task: Using iMovie, devise and film a trailer or scene from a film. Then add a soundtrack that enhances the mood or atmosphere of your film.

Key terms we will be using

Ostinato A short repeated pattern, can be a rhythm or a melody
Pedal A long note held or repeated throughout the piece

Prep for 13th May

Listen to the first couple of minutes of each then choose one to listen to all the way through.

Comment at the bottom-which is the scariest and why? Which did you choose to lsten all the way through to and why?

    All the clips have the change of pace, from fast to slow and they also have the volume change were its starts quite and gets louder. This is effective because it helps build tense in the movie.

    Every clip has a slow pace to begin with which increases as the movement in the scene increases. It gives the scene the tense atmosphere aimed.

    there is a build up in each clip working from slow tempered music to a quick pace movement which creates more of a build up onto what happens next.

    • Jenna this was not the task you have been asked to do. You were asked to listen to the first few minutes of all of them then choose one to hear all the way through and say in the comments box which you chose and why. Please do this again.

  24. I like the scary sounds (3) because the music starts of quite and peaceful and then the sound and pace increases showing the change in action.
