The Task: Using iMovie, devise and film a trailer or scene from a film. Then add a soundtrack that enhances the mood or atmosphere of your film.
Key terms we will be using
Ostinato A short repeated pattern, can be a rhythm or a melody
Pedal A long note held or repeated throughout the piece
Prep for 13th May
Listen to the first couple of minutes of each then choose one to listen to all the way through.
Comment at the bottom-which is the scariest and why? Which did you choose to lsten all the way through to and why?

What makes the music sound scary?
This video is an example of film music designed to scare you. Can you use the comments box to say how the composer does this?

All the clips have the change of pace, from fast to slow and they also have the volume change were its starts quite and gets louder. This is effective because it helps build tense in the movie.

Every clip has a slow pace to begin with which increases as the movement in the scene increases. It gives the scene the tense atmosphere aimed.

there is a build up in each clip working from slow tempered music to a quick pace movement which creates more of a build up onto what happens next.

I chose the third one because it has a smooth opening but then it turns mysterious with all different sound effects and change of tempo. It also creates tension as it suddenly stops and starts to build up.
