Welcome back a new new school year-we intend to make 2014-15 a really musical one!
All of our extra curricular activities and many of our instrumental lessons will start next week (8th) so please read the following for details!
Please note that if your child is bringing an instrument to school we have a locked cupboard to store it in safely during the day. Students can collect a key from Student Reception from 8.20am and should allow an extra 5 minutes before their music lesson to go and collect their instrument so that they don’t miss any of their teaching time!
- Students in years 8-11 should check the notice board for details of their lessons. If they have any queries then any of the music staff will be able to help, just head down to A47 to find us.
- New year 7 students will be sent details of their first lesson time and place and the teacher will explain the system to them when they arrive. If they have any problems at all, please do encourage them to ask, any member of staff will be able to direct them to the right person or place to find help.
- New students will have a copy of the extra curricular timetable in their form rooms and there should be a music club for everyone
Monday: 3.20-5 in the hall. Full orchestra, Beginner Strings and Wind Band. If your child plays an instrument to approx Grade 1 level please send them along. We will organise them into groups from there. Taiko Drumming will also take place in A51 from 3.20-4.15 open to everyone.
